The Lexium Motion Controller (LMC) delivers optimized solution for axis control and positioning, including automation functions. It meets the need of wide range of applications in all sectors of industry. Used in combination with our Lexium 05 and Lexium 15 servo drives and BSH/BDH servo motors it offers a complete, high-performance and cost-effective solution package called Lexium PAC. Lexium PAC can be adapted and integrated on most automation platforms – Schneider Electric or third party.
The LMC ensures the synchronization of the axes via CANopen Motionbus and is suitable for applications involving the control of up to 8 synchronized axes. Function modules facilitate programming of the axes to be synchronized. This way, technology functions such as flying saw, rotating knife, grouping/ungrouping and tensioning can be easily implemented with torque control mode.
A Modbus TCP and a Modbus interface are available for networking with master systems. In addition, a DeviceNet slave or a Profibus-DP slave is offered. As a CANopen master, the LMC can coordinate up to 32 drives or control slave devices such as I/O modules.
MotionPro mode provides a graphical development environment for configuring, programming and managing motion application. It relies on a standard interface, CoDeSys®, offering the convenience of the familiar Windows® environment: windows, toolbars, pop-up menus, contextual help etc. This application template can be used to configure the positioning functions. The automation functions are then added in the program organization units (POU).
Conforming to IEC 61131 standard, MotionPro software offers six programming languages of which two are text and four are graphical:
To simplify application programming and improve machine performance, MotionPro has an Application Function Block (AFB) library. These functions considerably reduce the time to program, validate or debug the whole installation. Flying shear, rotary knife, grouping/ungrouping and clamping with torque control function blocks are widely used in the industrial world. With its ergonomic, PLCopen design, this function block library has been developed to accommodate many different mechanical variants and application types.
